What do we do?

These choirs are for everyone who loves to sing. No previous experience is necessary and no need to read music. A really friendly inclusive group. 
We will do fun warm ups and exercises to improve your singing skills but the emphasis is always on having a fun stress busting session full of laughter and song.

Unique Vocal Arrangements

Amanda has a wealth of experience with mixed ability choirs and creates arrangements that sound amazing but are accessible for beginners and also challenging enough for the more experienced singer. We sing pop, rock, show tunes, sea shanties and anything that makes us smile and lifts our hearts

We are very fortunate to have the very talented Des Frater on keys. He arranges all our bespoke musical accompaniment 
to compliment Amanda's vocal arrangements.

A Short Example of a Typical Rehearsal

After some short exercises to prepare our voices for singing, we will run through a selection of songs from our current set. Refining the parts & harmonies to create that unique beautiful & emotive 'Live' sound we are well known for. Sometimes we might do up to 10 songs in a session. You can have your lyrics in digital or paper form. You don't need to read music, or be experienced. Its all about having fun, a laugh, & sounding great.

Frequently asked questions

  • How much does it cost to join the choir?
    We offer a free taster session and then the cost is (£8 per week for the afternoon choir) (£9 per week for the evening choir), payable termly in advance in one go or 3 installments 
  • Do you do performances?
    Yes, we usually do one at Christmas and one in the summer for a chosen local charity but there is no obligation to perform
  • How many people are in the choir and are there any age restrictions?
    The minimum age to join the choirs is 16 years but there is no upper limit!! There are usually between 35 - 50 members in the evening choir and 25 to 30 in the afternoon choir 
  • What do you sing?
    A huge variety of popular music ranging from the 1940's to the present day - also show songs, sea shanties and everything in between including Christmas Songs and Carols.
  • Where do you meet?
  • The Afternoon choir meets at The Bicester Bowls Club London Rd, Bicester OX26 6BU every Wednesday (Term Time) from 2:00pm to 3:15pm 
  • The Evening choir meets at Emmanuel Church, Bicester, Barberry Place, Bicester OX26 3HA every Wednesday (Term Time) from 7:30pm to 9:00pm
